Dropbox

Dropbox - Secure backup, sync and sharing made easy.

Dropbox is a clever web file storage thing that has great desktop clients for windows, OS X and ... linux. It has just come out of private beta and it is well worth a look. 2 GB of space free, user-friendly and on linux, marvellous.

Much better but less space than Adrive. Not as open but more user-friendly than box.net.

Don't forget about drop.io, but thats for a different purpose really.

I've looked at most of these now but I'm currently using Amazon S3 via the OpenS3 beta at SMEStorage.com - allows me to access my S3 files through my Iphone, or iGoogle, or a rich web browser or Facebook - much more open than the others I think.

This is Sean over at Box.net. We're always looking at ways to make it easy for our users to store files, work on them and share and collaborate on them wherever they are and whatever PC or mobile device they're using. I noticed in your post that you thought certain things about Box could be made easier. Feel free to reach out to us and let us know. We'd love to hear from you.
