We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join a dynamic, multi- disciplinary research team at the University of East Anglia in Norwich as a Bioinformatics Officer to work on the Prostate Cancer UK funded project titled ‘The Role of Bacterial Infection in the Development of Advanced Prostate Cancer’. The post holder will use data from next generation sequencing platforms and advanced ‘omic techniques and analysis to identify bacteria populations present in samples from prostate cancer patients and determine whether there is a link between microbiome and prostate cancer risk.

Applicants must have a PhD, or equivalent experience, in a relevant numeric biological subject (e.g. bioinformatics, computational biology) and have experience of working on sequence data, next generation sequence data and/or large genomics datasets. Strong organisational skills and knowledge of sequence alignment approaches and other basic bioinformatics algorithms is also essential.
