Here's something neat -- a fluorescent surfacing material for bike paths, which absorbs sunlight during the day and glows softly at night, to make it easier to navigate. I'd have a lot of questions about how it works (how long the glow lasts, how durable the material is, etc.) but the idea seems marvelous.

I'm trying to get a cheapo USB digital TV tuner called the August DVB-T205 (v2) to work on Ubuntu 12.04 .  The last approach failed but the following post sorted it and I used the ppa mentioned there:
